Mundare, Alta. – On Feb. 15, 2021 at 11:30 p.m., Vegreville RCMP responded to a call of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Highway 16, west of Mundare, Alta. Vegreville RCMP and emergency services attended the scene of the collision.
A transport truck heading westbound on Highway 16 collided with a male pedestrian who crossed the path of the transport truck in the right lane. The 43-year-old male from Blackfalds, Alta. was determined to be deceased on scene, and the 47-year-old male driver of the transport truck was not injured.
The RCMP Collision Analyst was called in to assist with the investigation and the incident remains under investigation. The name of the deceased will not be released and charges are not anticipated.
