Vegreville RCMP Provide Update on Sudden Death

Vegreville, Alta. – An autopsy was competed at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit have arrested and charged a male in connection with the sudden death investigation.
On June 2, 2020, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Vegreville RCMP responded to a 911 call regarding an injured male at a residence in Vegreville. The injured male was transported to hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
Kevin Vrdolak (50) of Vegreville is now charged with manslaughter in the death of John Bijelic (57) of Vegreville.
He was remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and is set to appear in Vegreville Provincial Court on June 8, 2020. Police are not seeking any other suspects in relation to this investigation.
As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
