The Town of Vegreville is taking additional measures to protect the safety of its employees in light of the rise in COVID-19 cases in the community.
On Dec. 7 the town posted a notice on its website informing residents that its administration building is now closed to the public. However, access will be granted by appointment only or via telephone. At this time, all town departments remain operational and they are available to assist residents using alternate measures.
The notice went on to state, “As the COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in our community, the Town of Vegreville encourages everyone to follow the mandatory enhanced public health measures currently in place and help prevent the spread by:
- not planning or attending any social gatherings
- staying home when you are sick
- washing your hands
- practicing physical distancing
- wearing masks, as per the Temporary Mandatory Face Coverings Bylaw 08-2020 when indoors and outdoors when physical distancing is not feasible.
We remain committed to open and transparent communications with staff and our residents in order to keep everyone safe and informed. Updates will be posted should additional information be available. The Town of Vegreville is committed to do our part to flatten the curve and prevent community spread.”
