Plenty of Shovel Ready Projects in Local Constituency

In an effort to reboot the Alberta economy the Province announced a number of initiatives and grant programs municipalities could apply for. Now, those dollars are being put to work in this area.
Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville Jackie Armstrong-Homeniuk hand-delivered a cheque for $656,250 to the Town of Mundare for its lift station replacement project.
Other projects that have been approved include:
Construction of the Industrial Area Roadway in the Town of Vegreville under the Local Municipal Initiative grant.
Bridge replacement in Lamont County on Township Road 564 approximately 5 km’s northeast of St. Michael, under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program Local Road Bridges grant.
Culvert replacement in the County of Minburn on Township Road 504 approximately 5 km’s east of Manville under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program Local Road Bridges grant.
Bridge replacement in the County of Minburn on Township Road 520 approximately 18 km’s northwest of Manville under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program Local Road Bridges grant.
Reconstruction of 5.6 kms of Range Road 143, 2 km east of the Town of Vegreville , in Minburn County under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Resource Road Program grant.
Bridge replacement in the County of Minburn on Township Road 484 approximately 22 km southwest of Manville under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program Economic Stimulus grant.
Bridge rehabilitation in the County of Minburn on Range Road 152 approximately 6 km’s north of Vegreville under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program Economic Stimulus grant.
Bridge replacement on Township Road 542 in the County of Two Hills approximately 17 km’s southwest of Two Hills under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program Local Road Bridges grant.
Airport Lighting Replacement at the Two Hills Airport in the County of Two Hills under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program Community Airport Program
Bridge replacement on Range Road 151 in the County of Two Hills approximately 19 km ‘s north of Vegreville under the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Economic Stimulus grant.
In terms of construction work on Provincial Highways in the area, the following projects are underway:
Highway 15 twinning is well underway with the bridge structures and throughout the Highway 15 corridor. Construction on Highway 15 west of the river is anticipated to get underway in spring 2021.
The bridge project on Highway 857 in Vegreville is proceeding on schedule and will be completed this season.
A paving project on Highway 857 from south of Highway 626 to Highway 16 has been tendered is slated to be completed this season.
A number of bridge replacement projects were recently approved with the economic stimulus funding, and engineering work is currently underway. These include:
Bridge Culvert Replacement on Hwy 45 about 17km NE of Bruderheim
Bridge Replacement Vermilion River on Hwy 16A in Vegreville
Bridge Culvert Replacement Tributary to Beaverhill Creek on Hwy 15 4km NW of Chipman
Bridge Culvert Replacement on Hwy 29 about 9km SW of Willingdon
Bridge replacement Tributary to Vermilion River on Hwy 29 about 9km SE of Willingdon
Vegreville- Alberta Research Council Building, relocation of transformer and secondary feed lines (under construction)
Fort Saskatchewan- Administration Building, chiller replacement (under construction)
Fort Saskatchewan- Correctional Centre, Central activities building and administration building boiler replacement (under construction)
