Town of Vegreville imposes Open Air Fire Pit Restrictions

Effective immediately and until further notice is given, the (AHJ) Authority Having Jurisdiction for the Town of Vegreville, has imposed restrictions on the use of open air fires within the corporate limits of Vegreville, Alberta.

Vegreville Mayor Richard N. Coleman, by and with the advice and consent of the Council of the Town of Vegreville, signed the proclamation Thursday morning to let it be known that the month of May shall be known as Hearing and Speech Month.

Family Day Fun a Huge Success

Record crowds attended the indoor activities at the aquatic centre including crafts, free juice and hotdogs during the Family Day Fun event.

Town of Vegreville provides support for local Health Services

At a Special Meeting of Council held on February 9th, 2011, the Town of Vegreville approved onetime base funding in the amount of $81,676.00 to the Vegreville Primary Care Network (VPCN). Town Staff Gives Back

All town departments collected just over $1600.00 in toys and cash for the Bureau.

At the Town of Vegreville Christmas Party, staff and guests brought 405 lbs. of non-perishable items for the Vegreville Food Bank, as well as $140.00 in cash donations.

Council Priorities Laid Out in ICSP

Last week we discussed what information was gathered from the community concerning issues or opportunities within the town regarding economic and development, governance, environment and infrastructure, social and recreation and culture. The information came from a community workshop in January where citizens were invited to give their input, as well as surveys that were made available to the public. Town Council also included their thoughts on the subjects.

Donate to Help Vegreville Get a Portable Ultrasound Machine

The Hospital Board is taking donations through paypal to help raise funds for a portable ultrasound machine. The new machine, the Sonosite M-Turbo, is a high performance mobile ultrasound machine that doctors hope to use as a diagnostic tool in the hospital to speed up diagnosis times in patients, allowing doctors to make accurate, informed decisions about patient care in shorter time periods. The mobile ultrasound unit can be applied in areas of care such as Anesthesia, Critical Care, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Women’s Health, Cardiovascular Disease Management, Surgeries and more. With support from the community, this incredibly valuable tool can be added to the list of ways that St. Joseph’s General Hospital works to bring the community better health.
