Veg. Beef Club Achievement Day

The four 4-Hers whose steers made it to the Championship class show them off during May 30th’s Achievement Day.

Vegreville 4-H Beef Club held their Achievement Day on Monday and it was a full day event.

This past weekend, Alberta 4-H member Breanne Durie, who is from Vegreville, was named a provincial Ambassador for the 4-H program.

Vegreville Light Horse Whisperers

The December meeting was combined with a Christmas party and a craft night where the members made Christmas stockings for their horses.

Many interesting topics were presented at the Elks Hall where the Vegreville Light Horse held their 4H Public Speaking event.

Minburn 4-H District Annual Communications Competition Coming Up

Innisfree 4-H Multi Club held their annual Communications Competition Saturday February 12. The winners were: Junior Speech: 1st- Jacob Miller,2nd- William Quinton,3rd-Hayden Isley; Intermediate Presentation: Cyena Chadney and Keana Boere; Intermediate Speech: Megan Turner. Those member who placed first and second move on to districts.

Across the province, 4-H clubs are beginning to hold their annual communications competition. The five clubs in the Minburn District (Vegreville Multi, Vegreville Beef, Innisfree Multi, Minburn Beef, and Innisfree Horse Whisperer’s) are preparing their 4-H’ers for the Minburn District 4-H Communciations Competition that will take place February 26 at the Innisfree Recreation Centre. 4-H [...]

Donate to Help Vegreville Get a Portable Ultrasound Machine

The Hospital Board is taking donations through paypal to help raise funds for a portable ultrasound machine. The new machine, the Sonosite M-Turbo, is a high performance mobile ultrasound machine that doctors hope to use as a diagnostic tool in the hospital to speed up diagnosis times in patients, allowing doctors to make accurate, informed decisions about patient care in shorter time periods. The mobile ultrasound unit can be applied in areas of care such as Anesthesia, Critical Care, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Women’s Health, Cardiovascular Disease Management, Surgeries and more. With support from the community, this incredibly valuable tool can be added to the list of ways that St. Joseph’s General Hospital works to bring the community better health.
